The MEDICA World Forum for Medicine is an International Trade Fair combined with Forums and Conferences. Last year a total of 123,500 delegates from over 130 different countries were in attendance. These recent delegates from countries such as China, India, Columbia and Nepal, mixed with returning delegates from medical technology markets in Europe providing both parties an opportunity to make many industry and business contacts.

Additionally, attendees participated in seminars such as the one for doctors dealing with ‘Handing Over Practices’, which proved to be very popular and relevant due to the fact that a large number of doctors will retire in the near future. Another session that attracted large numbers was ‘Infection Prevention’ which brought up related areas such as travel medicine, worldwide migration, interdisciplinary cooperative work, the increase in resistance and multi-resistance, and hygiene measures and therapies.

Conferences included in the trade fair such as MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE, MEDICA HEALTH IT FORUM, MEDICA CONNECTED HEALTHCARE FORUM and DiMiMED (the international military and disaster medical conference) are also continually popular with attendees in that they not only impart and share knowledge but can also help exhibitors find the right target groups for their innovations.

Finally, the exhibition floor allowed attendees to view an impressive amount of innovative technologies like game changers such as an ultrasound system consisting solely of a transducer, a smartphone and an app. With innovations such as these, technologies are more accessible than ever to a wide range of markets and health areas. A trend that exhibitors at the International Trade Show aptly demonstrated last year and will continue to demonstrate in 2018.
